who refrigerators and freezers

A refrigerator is a device that keeps food cold. A freezer is a device used to make ice cream, or keep other food cold.

Both devices can work with either electricity or gas. They usually have a door that opens and closes and shelves inside to store food. The temperature in them can be set to fit the needs of the person using it.

A refrigerator keeps things cool by blowing air into the box, even if there is no power running through it. A freezer compresses the air around an object which causes the object’s temperature to drop below -18 degrees Fahrenheit (-28 Celsius). The inside of it is insulated to protect the food inside. The temperature can be controlled by a dial so people can set it to their liking. It works best if the freezer is half full, so air doesn’t have to circulate as much.

A refrigerator is a commonly used household appliance that is designed to keep food cold. It typically consists of an insulated compartment called the freezer and a thermostat, which regulates the temperature inside the appliance and usually provides automatic defrosting.

A refrigerator keeps food cold by lowering its temperature, thus reducing ice formation. However, it appears thatrefrigerators do not have any sterilizing effect on food; they just cool it down in order to slow down microbial growth.

A freezer is where most of the cooling takes place when you use your refrigerator's interior as an air conditioner. The freezer temperature is usually kept below -15 degrees Celsius and is used to freeze food.

Who Invented The Refrigerator?

James Harrison invented the refrigerator in 1876, in a laboratory owned by the University of Cambridge at England.

The first successful refrigerators used ether as a cooling agent, but had to be manually replenished every few hours; later machines used a mixture of water and ethyl chloride. Harrison's original design used non-pressurized liquid ammonia refrigerant, which was eventually replaced by R-12 (dichlorodifluoromethane) and R-22 (dichlorodifluoromethane). These were commonly used until the 1990s.

Who invented the Freezer?

Eugene observed the work of Dr. Thomas A. Edison in 1880, who invented a machine that froze food quickly by circulating air through an airtight chamber within which the temperature was reduced to below zero degrees F, and he adapted this design to his own needs. In 1877, he built a commercial version of the machine which was sold by Sears and Roebuck Company, and eventually it became known as "Edison Refrigerator."

By 1886, he had patented his invention in 1885 with an additional patent in 1899 which covered all commercial freezers. An introduction to an article about the history and technology of refrigerators and freezers!

A series of refrigerator or freezer devices inside or outside a building that extract heat out of the ambient (surrounding) air, use this heat to cool food or another medium, then release the cooled air back into the building. Refrigerators were invented in 1853 by ice-refining engineer James Harrison, who discovered that vaporized ammonia could condense into liquid water on a cold surface.

The first 'cold storage' facilities for preserving food had been developed earlier in Europe at around 1750.
